Use Zelle® Safely — Send Money Only to People You Trust
At Carver Bank, your financial security is our top priority. That’s why we want to remind you to use Zelle® wisely. It’s a fast, convenient way to send money, but it should only be used with people you know and trust—like friends and family.
Zelle® Payments Are Final
Once a payment is sent through Zelle®, it can’t be canceled if the recipient is already enrolled. That means if you accidentally send money to the wrong person, or don’t receive what was promised, you may not be able to recover your funds.
Think of Zelle® Like Cash
If a deal seems too good to be true—like discounted concert tickets from a stranger—it probably is. Scammers may ask you to pay through Zelle® because it doesn’t offer purchase protection.
Zelle® does not provide coverage if:
You don’t receive an item you paid for
The item arrives but is not what was promised
Watch Out for Payment Scams
Avoid using Zelle® to pay people you don’t know, especially for products or services sold online. Neither Zelle® nor Carver Bank offers a protection program for authorized payments. If you’re unsure, consider using a credit card, which often comes with built-in buyer protections.
Double-Check Recipient Info
Before sending money, confirm you have the correct U.S. mobile number or email address for the recipient. Even a small typo could result in your funds going to the wrong person—and you might not be able to get them back.
Know Your Payment Options
If you're not sure about a transaction, or if you’re buying from someone you don’t know, a credit card may be a safer option. Many cards offer buyer protection if something goes wrong. Check with your card provider for details.
